108 Year Puja

108 Year Puja

Friday 26 August 2022 9am – 11:30am

I would like to invite you to join us in our traditional celebration the life of our teacher Urgyen Sangharakshita at the Buddhist Centre.

The evening will start with recollections and rejoicings in Sangharakshita. You are welcome to share your experiences of meeting with Sangharakshita, if you were fortunate enough to do so, or you may have a favourite poem that he wrote, or something from one of his many lectures and books that is of significance to you, that you would like to share.

Each year, on Sangharakshita’s birthday we remember him, and give expression to our gratitude to him, in the form of a seven-fold puja. We have undertaken to do this for 108 years and this year will the 20th puja, we will not be around to see this effort completed but by taking part now we will ensure that future generations will be able to experience an ongoing connection with our founder in a way that might otherwise be denied to them.
