Volunteers Day

Volunteers Day

Saturday 30 May 2:30pm – 4:30pm

As you will know the centre is run on the principle of Dana, or generosity. We do not charge for most of our events, instead we rely on what people can freely give us to cover our running costs of over £4000 a month.

But Dana isn't just about money, we can also give of ourselves, especially our time to help keep the centre running and to help it become even more successful. In doing so we can make a fundamental shift in how we relate to the centre. It no longer becomes something we go to, but something we are apart of.

There are many ways in which you can help out at the centre: Build shrines, running the book shop, tech support, website design, publicity, maintenance, retreat organising, cooking for events, washing tea towels and blankets to name a few. Some things may be on going and others for a specific event. But what ever your skills we need them, and you may be able to learn new ones as well.

To find out more please come along on the 30th of May where you can hear about other peoples experience of volunteering and the benefits of doing so. If you can't make it but still want to offer your time and skills please email Harsharatna, the centre coordinator cc@colchesterbuddhistcentre.com
