Reading café. The Poetry of Impermanence, Mindfulness and Joy
Friday 13 June 7pm – 9pm
Containing something for everyone, this is not just any anthology, but like a cleansing Dharmic shower. From the fourth-century BCE philosopher Chuang-Tzu’s meditation on the intelligence of fish, through to Pablo Neruda’s elegiac ‘Ode to a Dead Carob Tree’ or Jane Hirschfield’s Haiku-esque ‘Lighthouse’, the poems in this collection speak directly to what it means to be ethically alive and aware of self and other. Choose a couple that you’d like to share with us.
