Please join us for a day of celebration, practice and devotion in honour of Guru Rinpoche, the greatly precious one.
Padmasambhava is the person credited with establishing Buddhism in Tibet in the eighth century. His remarkable life has always been surrounded in myth, making him a magical and mystical figure. This day is a celebration of his life and his symbolic qualities of vision, fearlessness and transformation.
This event is open to all and you are welcome to come to all or part of the day. There is no charge for festival days.
Please note this event takes place in person at the Buddhist centre.
You are encouraged to bring instruments along to use in the puja.
If you are staying for lunch please bring vegan lunch to share.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I need to have been coming?
Everyone is welcome, but the day will be especially suitable for those know the stages to the two meditations taught at the centre.
Do I need to book?
No - just turn up!
I can't make the whole day - can I come for just some of it?
Yes. It will be better to join at the start of an activity so please check the programme for details.
What is pūjā?
A pūjā is a traditional Buddhist ritual that includes chanting and making offerings which we can do in our own homes.
How much does the day cost?
All of our events are run on a donation basis. There is no set charge, we just ask you to give what you can to support the day.
Can I still attend if I am under 18?
All our welcome at our classes however anyone under the age of 18 needs contact us in advance to discuss: contact@colchesterbuddhistcentre.com
What food should i bring to lunch?
Salad, crisps, bread and cake are all great to share!
