Gong Bath

Gong Bath

Sunday 24 September 2023 2pm – 3pm

Gong bath is an opportunity to rest the mind and body. There is nothing to do but allow the vibrations to pass through you…

Experience sound through every cell in your body, allow your body to relax and rest deeply and ‘bathe’ in the vibrational power of the gongs and bowls.

Sound waves naturally heal the body and the mind, by resonating with the molecular structure of our bodies.

You can find out more about gong baths here.

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've never been to a gong bath, what should I expect?

This event is open to 16 people.

You will be guided to the upstairs shrine room and given time to settle, either lying down or sitting. There will be places set out with mats, a cushion and blanket, although feel free to bring your own if you would rather.

Colin will introduce you to the practice and lead you into some relaxation and then sound healing with chimes, singing bowls and gongs. The gongs can be very loud so let Colin know if you have sensitive hearing!

Colin will also do some chanting, promoting healing.

The session will last approximately 1 hour. There will be 30 minutes after this where you will have time to reorient yourself and any questions can be asked. You may also use the facilities and grab a drink.

Should I arrive early?

Yes please arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow yourself time to settle in the shrine room for the gong bath to start on time.

Do I need to be a Buddhist?

No, everyone is welcome regardless of religious beliefs.

What should I wear?

Whatever you are comfortable and feel relaxed in. You will be asked to remove your shoes to enter the shrine room, so you may want to factor that into your footwear choice!

Is this suitable for children?

This event is only open to those over 18 years of age.

Is there parking available?

As we are in the town centre we do not have onsite parking, the nearest car parks are Britannia and Napier Road.

We are also directly opposite the town train station and serviced by good bus links.

Bikes can be locked to the railings at the back of the building.

Can I get a refund if I can't make it?

Unfortunately our cancellation policy is that gong bath bookings are non refundable and non transferable. This is a fundraising event for the Buddhist centre and there is high demand for places.
