Grand Mitra Ceremony
Thursday 10 April 2025 7pm – 9:30pm
All are welcome to witness this moving and spiritually significant decision to join our community.
Mitra Ceremonies are among the highlights in our calendar when the Mitra(s)-to-be make a public declaration of their commitment to follow the teachings of The Buddha within the tradition of the Triratna movement.
There will be much rejoicing, rose petals and cake.
If you are able, please bring a vegan cake to share!
What is a Mitra?
Mitra means Friend. The three requisites of becoming a Mitra are that you feel you are a Buddhist, you are trying to practise the five Precepts and that you feel that the Triratna Buddhist Community is the main context in which you want to deepen your practice.
If taking this step in becoming a Mitra would interest you, please contact either the Men's Mitra convenor Amalaketu, or the Women's Mitra convenor, Saddhavasitta.
